Manketti trees grow throughout South Africa where the nuts and the oil have been used traditionally for their nutritive value. The oil, also called Mongongo oil, is highly emollient and protects the skin from environmental damage.
The Kwangali tribe use this oil as a nutrient rich hair treatment oil. To use as an Hot Oil Treatment Simply heat the desired amount to a comfortable temperature, massage into hair and scalp, wrap your hair in cling film and then a towel and leave for at least 30mins, then shampoo hair as normal.
Manketti oil can be used in a wide variety of creams, lotions, sun care products, lip balms, hair conditioning oils and body butters.
